They took it in, and told me the manifold is cracked and needs replacing it's going to be 300+ for the manifold plus 300+ for labor, for a total of 650+ dollars to fix. They took it in, and told me the manifold is cracked and needs replacing it's going to be 300+ for the manifold plus 300+ for labor, for a total of 650+ dollars to fix. I had a bad gasket and at and idle or rev it would flap and hit aginst the block making the taping sound. Also, since the exhaust under jeeps is so rigid, a failed/failing engine mount makes good sense for causing collector cracks. Got the garage all warmed up with the king automatic circulating woodstove.
