X pipe vs true dual exhaust. XX more horsepower and torque. I like the sound quality of the x-pipe too. According to all the research I have done x pipe is best h pipe is better than nothing and can save space in cramped areas and true duals are best in the minds of red necks that are stuck on 1960s ideas. Your not going to lose the lumpy idle with that cam. It sounds unreal at 6600 rpm.
I also like the x-pipe because it quiets the exhaust some. Exhaust crossovers compared tested and explained. I was expecting to spend around 700 on a Bassani X-Pipe and then maybe some. But most people fall for the XX increase in flow. In terms of horsepower and torque there are some differences.
I know most H and X pipes add around 20-30hp or so. Sometimes the intake passage is blanked off at both ends and the heat riser valve is removed. Low tone sounds best with chambered muffler. I also know that true duals are probably a little more expensive than just going with a dual indual out muffler wont have to have an x pipe either. They also drop the sound level a notch also.
Heres what I found. But most people fall for the XX increase in flow. The goal of the video is to explain the differences between an H-pipe an X-pipe and no crossover pipe at all. If a dual exhaust does help performance that is great but a true dual exhaust can also create other less-desirable issues as I was going to find out. I also know that true duals are probably a little more expensive than just going with a dual indual out muffler wont have to have an x pipe either. For this reason with x-pipes its best if the x-pipe is used in conjunction with tuned headers equal length primary tubes and also equal length pipes from each header for it to have the best effect.
